Abstract: The holding of presidential elections in my native Argentina, in which the libertarian Javier Milei won, brings back into focus an eternally crucial and defining issue: Freedom. Beyond this punctual event, it seems to me appropriate the occasion to develop basic concepts already analyzed in previous essays, which can be read in my web Portal https://farodelautopia.org , since Freedom is an essential faculty of the Spirit.
The first important epistemological consideration to approach the subject of Freedom, is that I understand that we must do it from a superior, universal perspective, I would even say macrocosmic, encompassing, integral and timeless; to then descend to its more punctual, territorial, local, temporary deployments. In this sense, it seems to me extremely valuable to begin with the essential description of the Human Being, his place in the Cosmos and his evolutionary perspectives. For this, I base myself on the teaching of the renowned psychiatrist, psychologist and philosopher Viktor Frankl (from Vienna, Austria), creator of the current of Theistic Psychology called Existential Analysis-Logotherapy, which he developed after being liberated by the Allies at the end of the 2nd. He was a prisoner of the Nazis in their concentration camps for being a Jew, and lost his entire family in them, but nevertheless he was able to positively elaborate such an unfortunate situation of facing death daily, appealing to the resilient strength of his spirit to overcome it and even develop and bequeath us his brilliant existential theory, of medical, psychological, anthropological and philosophical relevance. Viktor Frankl’s Existential Analysis-Logotherapy (third Viennese school of Psychology, together with Freud and Adler), was influenced by the existential philosophy of Heidegger, Biswanger and Jaspers, and stood out for incorporating in its approach the dimension of the Spirit (which neither gets sick nor dies) by conceiving the Human Being as a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual integrity, who acts ethically by choosing in Freedom and with Responsibility, between Good and Evil, morally enlightened and attracted in his Conscience (voice of transcendence) by spiritual values and the Absolute or God (who is eternal Love). It differs from Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis, which has a more mechanistic-biological, hedonistic, pleasure-seeking and atheistic approach. I expose a pedagogical model of the Human Being to better understand the theme of Freedom. Like a 5-pointed star, in the central nucleus I place the Spirit, the Consciousness, which evolves through transcendence towards the realization of the divine plan (in the Model towards the superior vertex where the Values and the Absolute are found, the spiritual appellative, the kingdom of God or whatever you want to call it). For by intuiting in his intimacy the Absolute or God (who is eternal Love) and the spiritual Values that attract him (Creative: works; Experiential: receiving, perceiving, love, beauty; of Attitude: before the limit situations, -suffering-guilt-death-) he can try to realize them and thus become the Voice of Transcendence, the organ of Sense. In the middle vertexes I place Ethics and Morality, understanding ethics as the morality incarnated in the person, lived, real, the conduct, the action, and which refers to the relative. Morality refers to the uses and customs embodied in a normative, normed, codified. A moral (Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, atheist) is a moral code that exposes rules to which to adjust the ethical expression, the action; it also refers to the relative. In the lower vertexes I place Freedom and Responsibility (from the Latin respondere), both interdependent, because in freedom we are presented with the possibility of choosing between Good and Evil, of responding and assuming the task of finding meaning in our life, or not doing so and falling into the existential void, suffering the neurotic triad of this postmodernity (violence-aggression, depression-suicide, addictions: drugs-alcohol-power-indiscriminate sex). For Freedom not to fall into licentiousness, it needs to be exercised with Responsibility in solidarity with others. This crack, or possibility of choice, is eternal, evolutionary, and it is normal that it exists; it is present in all human fields. It is the dichotomy between Good or Evil, Light or Darkness, Freedom or Slavery, Republican Democracy or Populist-Communist Dictatorship, Love or Hate, Peace or War-Violence, Truth or Lies, Solidary Social Empathy or Selfishness, Value or Dishonor, Respectful Tolerance or Authoritarian Dogmatism. It can be overcome by the synthesis or positive responsible choice of Good and Light, not falling into false and lukewarm middle ways. I include valuable concepts on the subject contributed by Epistemology, Anthropology, Existential Philosophy, Eastern Philosophy (Bhagavad Gita or Celestial Song -part of the Vedas-, Buddha, Gandhi, Krishnamurti), and Esoteric Psychology (Theosophy, Blavatsky, Bailey, Besant). These teachings of Eastern Wisdom undoubtedly facilitate a better understanding of the essence of the Human Being, in his physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects; the evolution of his soul and Spirit, the discovery and existential encounter with his own Being and with God.

La realización de elecciones presidenciales en mi patria natal Argentina, en las que ganó el libertario Javier Milei, vuelve a poner en foco un tema eternamente crucial y definitorio: la Libertad. Más allá de este suceso puntual, me parece adecuada la ocasión para desarrollar conceptos básicos ya analizados en anteriores ensayos, que pueden leerse en mi Portal web www.farodelautopia.org , pues la Libertad es una facultad esencial del Espíritu.
La primera consideración epistemológica importante para abordar el tema de la Libertad, es que entiendo debemos hacerlo desde una perspectiva superior, universal, hasta diría macrocósmica, abarcativa, integral y atemporal; para luego ir descendiendo a sus despliegues más puntuales, territoriales, locales, temporarios. En tal sentido, me parece sumamente valioso empezar por la descripción esencial del Ser Humano, su puesto en el Cosmos y sus perspectivas evolutivas. Para ello, me baso en la enseñanza del reconocido psiquiatra, psicólogo y filósofo Viktor Frankl (de Viena, Austria), creador de la corriente de Psicología Teísta llamada Análisis Existencial-Logoterapia, la que desarrolló luego de ser liberado por los aliados al fin de la 2da. guerra mundial, pues fue prisionero de los nazis en sus campos de concentración por ser judío, y perdió en ellos a toda su familia, pero sin embargo pudo elaborar positivamente tan desgraciada situación de enfrentar diariamente la muerte, apelando a la fuerza de resiliencia de su espíritu para superar la misma e incluso desarrollar y legarnos su genial teoría existencial, de relevancia médica, psicológica, antropológica y filosófica. El Análisis Existencial-Logoterapia de Viktor Frankl (tercera escuela vienesa de Psicología, junto a Freud y Adler), recibió influencias de la filosofía existencial de Heidegger, Biswanger y Jaspers, y se destacó por incorporar en su enfoque la dimensión del Espíritu (que no enferma ni muere) al concebir al Ser Humano como una integridad bio-psico-socio-espiritual, que obra éticamente al elegir en Libertad y con Responsabilidad, entre el Bien y el Mal, moralmente iluminado y atraído en su Conciencia (voz de la trascendencia) por valores espirituales y el Absoluto o Dios (que es Amor eterno). Se diferencia por esto del psicoanálisis de Sigmund Freud, el que posee un enfoque más mecanicista-biologista, hedonista centrado en la búsqueda del placer, y ateo. Expongo un modelo pedagógico de Ser Humano para mejor entender el tema de la Libertad. Cual una estrella de 5 puntas, en el núcleo central de la misma ubico el Espíritu, la Conciencia , que evoluciona mediante la trascendencia hacia la realización del plan divino (en el Modelo hacia el vértice superior donde se hallan los Valores y lo Absoluto, lo espiritual apelativo, el reino de Dios o como quiera llamársele). Pues al intuír en su intimidad al Absoluto o Dios (que es Amor eterno) y los Valores espirituales que le atraen (Creativos: obras; Vivenciales: recibir, percibir, amor, belleza; de Actitud: ante las situaciones límite, –sufrimiento-culpa-muerte-) puede intentar realizarlos y así constituirse en la Voz de la Trascendencia, en el órgano de Sentido. En los vértices medios ubico a la Ética y a la Moral, entendiendo la ética como la moral encarnada en la persona, vivida, real, la conducta, la acción, y que refiere a lo relativo. La Moral remite a los usos y costumbres corporizados en una normativa, lo normado, lo codificado. Una moral (cristiana, judía, budista, musulmana, atea) es un código moral que expone reglas a las cuales ajustar la expresión ética, la acción; también refiere a lo relativo. En los vértices inferiores ubico a la Libertad y a la Responsabilidad (del latín respondere), ambas interdependientes, pues en libertad se nos presenta la posibilidad de elección entre el Bien y el Mal, de responder y asumir la tarea propia de encontrar sentido a nuestra vida, o no hacerlo y caer en el vacío existencial, sufriendo la tríada neurótica de esta posmodernidad (violencia-agresión, depresión-suicidio, adicciones: drogas-alcohol-poder-sexo indiscriminado). Para que la Libertad no caiga en libertinaje necesita ser ejercida con Responsabilidad solidaria con el prójimo. Esta grieta, o posibilidad de elección, es eterna, evolutiva, y es normal que exista; se presenta en todos los campos humanos. Es la dicotomía entre el Bien o el Mal, la Luz o la Oscuridad, la Libertad o la Esclavitud, la Democracia republicana o la Dictadura populista-comunista, el Amor o el Odio, la Paz o la Guerra-Violencia, la Verdad o la Mentira, la Empatía Social Solidaria o el Egoísmo, el Valor o el Disvalor, la Tolerancia respetuosa o el Dogmatismo autoritario. Puede ser superada por la síntesis o positiva elección responsable del Bien y la Luz, no cayendo en falsas y tibias vías del medio. Incluyo valiosos conceptos sobre el tema aportados por la Epistemología, la Antropología, la Filosofía Existencial, la Filosofía Oriental (Bhagavad Gita o Canción Celestial –parte de los Vedas-, Buda, Gandhi, Krishnamurti), y la Psicología Esotérica (Teosofía, Blavatsky, Bailey, Besant). Estas enseñanzas de la sabiduría oriental sin duda facilitan comprender mejor la esencia del Ser Humano, en sus aspectos físicos, emocionales, mentales y espirituales; la evolución de su alma y Espíritu, el descubrimiento y encuentro existencial con su propio Ser y con Dios.

La revolución ética mundial aún pendiente Mayo 2023 (español) Introducción:
En el camino de la investigación epistemológica psicológica, filosófica y espiritual, no debemos tener prejuicios ni preconceptos, ni temor a realizar novedosos aportes; el mismo Viktor Frankl nos alienta en ese sentido cuando nos dice: “No tengo ningún interes en crear robots ni loros que repitan la voz del amo. Mas deseo para el futuro, que la causa de la Logoterapia sea llevada por espíritus creativos, independientes, inventivos e innovadores.” (La Psicoterapia en la práctica médica- Edit. San Pablo, pág. 311). Sus propias palabras respaldan mi humilde opinión personal que el destacado enfoque o postura antropológica existencial frankliana es una condición necesaria pero no suficiente, en especial a la hora de abordar los grandes enigmas de la existencia; su carácter valiosísimo justifica y amerita estudiarlo en relación con miradas existenciales similares. Así ocurre con su definición del Ser Humano como una integridad bio-psico-socio-espiritual (incorpora en la Psicología la dimensión del Espíritu, –esto es valiosísimo-), pues de tal manera nos habilita a considerar y valorar su notoria similitud con la sabia filosofía oriental y las grandes religiones, que también definen la esencia del Ser Humano como Espíritu.
El aporte académico y científico extraordinario que realizó Frankl en el campo de la Psicología, es incluso superado y enriquecido aún más por su legado espiritual profundamente humanista, claramente coincidente y empático con los principios ecuménicos y eternos de Mahatma Gandhi, quien decía: “Mucha gente, en especial la ignorante, desea castigarte por decir la verdad, por ser correcto, por ser tú. Nunca te disculpes por ser correcto o por estar años por delante de tu tiempo. Si estás en lo cierto y lo sabes, que hable tu razón. Incluso si eres una minoría de uno sólo, la verdad sigue siendo la verdad.” …//…
The global ethical revolution still pending May 2023 (English) Introduction:
In the path of psychological, philosophical and spiritual epistemological research, we must not have prejudices or preconceptions, nor fear of making new contributions; Viktor Frankl himself encourages us in this regard when he tells us: “I have no interest in creating robots or parrots that repeat the master’s voice. I wish more for the future that the cause of Logotherapy be led by creative, independent, inventive and innovative spirits.” (Psychotherapy in medical practice- Edit. San Pablo, p. 311). His own words support my humble personal opinion that the prominent Franklian existential anthropological approach or stance is a necessary but not sufficient condition, especially when it comes to tackling the great enigmas of existence; its extremely valuable character justifies and deserves to be studied in relation to similar existential perspectives. This is the case with his definition of the Human Being as a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual integrity (he incorporates the dimension of the Spirit into Psychology, -this is extremely valuable-), since in this way he enables us to consider and value his notorious similarity with the wise oriental philosophy and the great religions, which also define the essence of the Human Being as Spirit. The extraordinary academic and scientific contribution that Frankl made in the field of Psychology is even surpassed and further enriched by his deeply humanist spiritual legacy, clearly coincident and empathetic with the ecumenical and eternal principles of Mahatma Gandhi, who said: «Many people , especially the ignorant one, wants to punish you for telling the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct or for being years ahead of your time. If you are right and you know it, let your reason speak. Even if you are a minority of only one, the truth is still the truth.” …//…
Obsérvese incluso la notable coincidencia con lo dicho por Frankl: “Mientras no nos es accesible la verdad absoluta, debemos conformarnos con las verdades relativas que se corrigen mutuamente, y también debemos ser capaces de tener el coraje para ser unilaterales. Dentro de la orquesta de voces múltiples de la psicoterapia, no sólo tenemos el derecho de ser unilaterales en forma consciente, sino que tenemos la obligación de serlo”. (V. Frankl “Lo que no está escrito en mis libros- Memorias”, Edit. San Pablo, pág.120).
Este breve introito es solo a los fines de explicitar las causas que generan la crisis global planetaria que nos afecta, y la forma de ir paulatinamente superándola. Primero, vemos que la crisis tiene una expresión externa, la ética (conducta externa que expresa valores o disvalores), que se da en todos los campos de la actividad humana. La ética (conducta-acción) moderna, se asume mayoritariamente como secular –mundana, no religiosa-, o sea no se inspira en valores morales espirituales teístas como los postulados por Frankl y Gandhi, y no responde a la idea fundamental que ambos expresaron (al igual que las grandes religiones y filosofías de Occidente y Oriente), sobre la existencia del Espíritu, como núcleo constitutivo del Ser Humano. Esta ética moderna secular padece así de graves deficiencias conceptuales y operativas, por las cuales el Ser Humano es propenso a terminar extraviado y esclavo de sus disvalores y de cualquier maligna e interesada manipulación social. Amerita se realice una revolución ética.
La crisis actual, altera la libertad del Ser Humano en su raíz ética (la acción o moral vivida) y moral (lo normado), ya que afecta su esencialidad, y es conocida como la crisis de la pos o ultra-modernidad, según la llamo desde hace años en mis escritos, obrantes en mi libro “El legado espiritual de Viktor Frankl: Gandhi y la ballena blanca” , (2020) disponible en AMAZON:

Note even the remarkable coincidence with what Frankl said: “As long as absolute truth is not accessible to us, we must make do with relative truths that correct each other, and we must also be able to have the courage to be one-sided. Within the multi-voiced orchestra of psychotherapy, we not only have the right to be consciously one-sided, but we have an obligation to be.» (V. Frankl «What is not written in my books-Memoirs, Edit. San Pablo, p.120).
This brief introduction is only for the purpose of explaining the causes that generate the global planetary crisis that affects us, and the way to gradually overcome it. First, we see that the crisis has an external expression, ethics (external behavior that expresses values or disvalues), which occurs in all fields of human activity. Modern ethics (conduct-action) is mostly assumed to be secular -worldly, non-religious-, that is, it is not inspired by theistic spiritual moral values such as those postulated by Frankl and Gandhi, and it does not respond to the fundamental idea that both expressed ( like the great religions and philosophies of the West and the East), on the existence of the Spirit, as the constitutive nucleus of the Human Being. This modern secular ethic thus suffers from serious conceptual and operational deficiencies, due to which the Human Being is prone to end up lost and a slave to their disvalues and any malignant and self-serving social manipulation. It deserves an ethical revolution

Guerra y pandemia no son causa de la crisis, sólo la agravan; la crisis tiene una raíz ética y moral. …//…Pese a la triste y apabullante realidad externa que nos condiciona, hoy genera esperanza la certeza de poder recuperar un sentimiento de religiosidad individual auténtico, y profundizar la extraordinaria enseñanza de Viktor Frankl, quien acertadamente dijo que “más que ir hacia una religión universal, vamos hacia una religiosidad profundamente personal, donde cada uno encontrará su propio lenguaje, el más afín a su naturaleza íntima cuando se torne a Dios, pudiendo cualquier religión servirle de vehículo para llegar a Dios, al único Dios.”
Este enfoque es salvífico y sanador, pues permite así recuperar la iniciativa, creatividad y responsabilidad individual, al empoderar a cada ser humano para que en libertad y con responsabilidad asuma su tarea propia de discernir entre el Bien y el Mal, y buscar el sentido último de la vida. Podrá así vivenciar la Fe y el Amor ya sea a través de la religiosidad o un contenido u objeto adecuados, realizar los Valores trascendentes que le atraen, y constituirse en la Voz de la Trascendencia, en el órgano de Sentido.
El Análisis Existencial-Logoterapia de Frankl fortalece e impulsa el libre accionar responsable individual pues es un canto a la libertad y creatividad del espíritu (“Dios es el interlocutor más íntimo de mis más íntimos diálogos”, Frankl), y apela genuinamente a nuestra alma tal como lo hace en su “Libertad primera y última” el filósofo indio Krishnamurti. Al abrir su Espíritu a la inspiradora presencia de Dios (que es Amor eterno, infinito), recupera el Ser Humano la conciencia individual como segura guía interna ante la poco confiable guía externa, y deja de correr riesgos de desvío de su sendero evolutivo.
Él es ahora el dueño y artífice de su propio destino espiritual, ya no caerá en el conformismo consumista de hacer lo que otros hacen ni en el totalitarismo masificante de hacer lo que otros exigen que haga. Podrá así ser partícipe libre y creativo de la revolución ética pendiente (realizando los valores espirituales trascendentes de esta nueva Ética humanista re-valorizada espiritualmente), y vivenciar íntimamente el Amor eterno que da sentido a toda vida.
…//…Despite the sad and overwhelming external reality that conditions us, today it generates hope the certainty of being able to recover a feeling of authentic individual religiosity, and deepen the extraordinary teaching of Viktor Frankl, who rightly said that «rather than going towards a universal religion, we are going towards a deeply personal religiosity, where each one will find his own language, the one most akin to his intimate nature when he turns to God, any religion being able to serve him as a vehicle to reach God, the only God.» This approach is salvific and healing, because it allows the recovery of initiative, creativity and individual responsibility, by empowering each human being to freely and responsibly assume his own task of discerning between Good and Evil, and to search for the ultimate meaning of life. He will thus be able to experience Faith and Love either through religiosity or an appropriate content or object, to realize the transcendent Values that attract him, and to become the Voice of Transcendence, the organ of Meaning. Frankl’s Existential Analysis-Logotherapy strengthens and encourages free individual responsible action as it is a hymn to the freedom and creativity of the spirit («God is the most intimate interlocutor of my most intimate dialogues», Frankl), and genuinely appeals to our soul just as the Indian philosopher Krishnamurti does in his «First and Last Freedom». By opening his Spirit to the inspiring presence of God (which is eternal, infinite Love), the Human Being recovers his individual conscience as a safe internal guide before the unreliable external guide, and stops running the risk of deviation from his evolutionary path. He is now the owner and architect of his own spiritual destiny, he will no longer fall into the consumerist conformism of doing what others do or the massive totalitarianism of doing what others demand that he do. In this way, he will be able to be a free and creative participant in the pending ethical revolution (realizing the transcendent spiritual values of this new spiritually revalued humanist Ethics), and intimately experience the eternal Love that gives meaning to all life.

A few words about two special places in the world, where I usually go when I can… In many ways God manifests His presence and greatness to us. Undoubtedly, in the landscape of Claromecó (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina), we find clear traces of His work in nature: sun, sea, vast beaches of superb tranquility, a large nursery and forest reserve, which bring us the long-awaited peace of mind and necessary physical well-being. And other brushstrokes of beautiful color for the eyes of the soul: streams, waterfalls, snails, the lighthouse of the highest in South America, seagulls and dunes, everything is immense in these southern places…, as I wrote in a poem years ago… we are made of wind and distance…, of sea and eternity… And perhaps this is one of the few places where we get closer to our true essence, to our spiritual being.
And I attest that beauty also reaches a superlative dimension in the extraordinary Andean landscape of San Rafael (Province of Mendoza, Argentina), which was born in the middle of a great oasis, fruit of the contribution of the waters of the Diamante and Atuel rivers, It is a paradise on earth: rich and varied landscapes, clear waters and pure air. At the foot of the Andes Mountains, it is a land full of natural beauties and great experiences to enjoy life thanks to the conjunction of its impressive landscapes such as the Valle Grande, the Atuel Canyon, El Nihuil, dams and reservoirs of Los Reyunos, El Tigre, Agua de Toro, La Vieja Villa 25 de Mayo, among others. All offer various alternatives to fully enjoy nature with peace of mind and safety for the whole family, with adventure activities such as rafting, trekking, mountain biking, jet skiing, wind surfing, kayaking, fishing, diving, horseback riding, etc., in an area with incredible natural beauties.
Unas pocas palabras sobre dos especiales lugares en el mundo, donde suelo ir cuando puedo… De muchas maneras Dios nos manifiesta Su presencia y grandeza. Sin duda en el paisaje de Claromecó (Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina), encontramos huellas patentes de Su obra en la naturaleza: sol, mar, amplísimas playas de soberbia tranquilidad, gran vivero y reserva forestal, que nos traen la tan ansiada paz mental y necesario bienestar físico. Y otras pinceladas de hermoso colorido para los ojos del alma: arroyos, cascadas, caracoleros, el Faro de los más altos de Sudamérica, gaviotas y dunas, todo es inmenso en estos parajes sureños…, tal como escribí en un poema hace añares… estamos hechos de viento y lejanía…, de mar y eternidad…
Y quizás sea éste uno de los pocos sitios donde más nos acercamos a nuestra verdadera esencia, a nuestro ser espiritual.
Y doy fe que la belleza también alcanza una dimensión superlativa en el extraordinario paisaje cordillerano de San Rafael (Provincia de Mendoza, Argentina), que nacida en el medio de un gran oasis, fruto del aporte de las aguas de los ríos Diamante y Atuel, es un paraíso en la tierra: ricos y variados paisajes, aguas límpidas y aire puro. Al pie de la Cordillera de los Andes, es una tierra repleta de bellezas naturales y grandes experiencias para gozar la vida gracias a la conjunción de sus imponentes paisajes como el Valle Grande, el Cañón del Atuel, El Nihuil, diques y embalses de Los Reyunos, El Tigre, Agua de Toro, La Vieja Villa 25 de Mayo, entre otros. Todos brindan diversas alternativas para disfrutar plenamente la naturaleza con tranquilidad y seguridad para toda la familia, con actividades de aventura como rafting, trekking, mountain bike, jet ski, wind surf, kayak, pesca, buceo, cabalgatas, etc, en una zona con increíbles bellezas naturales.

Copio aquí algunos capítulos de mi nuevo libro (ver en Escritos) , enviado a imprenta el 10 de noviembre 2023, en el que vuelco las ideas sobre la Libertad (inseparable de la noción de Responsabilidad), exploradas epistemológicamente desde la Filosofía Existencial de Viktor Frankl y la Filosofía Oriental de Gandhi, integradas en un modelo teísta de Ser Humano. Vaticino en el libro la victoria libertaria en la elección presidencial y analizo las bases humanísticas, psicológicas, filosóficas, antropológicas, y en especial espirituales, sobre las que se asienta esta corriente, de impostergable desarrollo si queremos salvarnos como Humanidad y avanzar hacia Dios.
